Travelling with the Guitar

I've been called a groupie, a roadie, a coolie... but all I really am is wife to my guitar-playing husband who travels some. I get to tag along, to take me away from the monotony of obsessive house cleaning. Here, I log our adventures with food, airlines, hotels, food, organisers, fans, food, people, books I read. Did I say 'food' already? Well, someone's got to tell people what life's like on the road, right?

September 30, 2006
Roger's been staying home (in Sabah) lately because he's been very, truly, super busy with studio work. Plus, it'll be less than a month before they launch "No Strings Attached"!!!!! That's right, you heard it first, here on this blog. I've not even gotten around to adding this latest news on his website yet.

For the last two days, I've been waking up to Farid Ali singing in our living room. (Roger likes to test the sound and quality of the songs on every single CD player we own: in the house, in the car) So I have super-secret info on the album. And I'm bursting to spill the beans. But that would be so wrong.

All I can say is that ...
1. I've really enjoyed waking up to the songs and
2. (whisper) roger sings in this album.

I know, I know! It's really exciting and for me, even a little ticklish, to hear him sing. It's the first time he sings in his albums and though he's only Farid's backup singer, it makes me giggle quite furiously.

I've asked him to sing his "Yucky Sushi" or "So You Want To Be A Guitar Player" song and put it in this album but he gives me a firm but definite head shake. What does a person have to do to make him record that? Have his babies?! Sheesh.
